The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board is excited to be partnering with Telling Tales.
Telling Tales Literacy Festival is a fun-filled family event that brings together the best in Canadian authors, illustrators, musicians and storytellers to inspire, engage, entertain and teach. This year, the Festival is doing all this virtually.
Staff and students will find something to capture their imagination and connect them to stories based on three current and relevant themes. The School Festival takes place on September 22, 23 and 24, and features a 30-minute presentation each day that includes interviews, performances and workshops tailored to different ages and interests.
Information on each sessions can be accessed through the Telling Tales website
. The link will direct you to access a secure You Tube format that has been created specifically for this event. Presentations will be available any time after each day’s event has premiered.
The first school session, Shocking Science and Fab Facts,
invites students to think outside the box. Join Jess Keating, Josh Taylor, Kevin Sylvester, Ted & Will Staunton, Elizabeth MacLeod and Ishta Mercurio as they talk about science, technology and fabulous facts! Take a visit to the apothecary at Westfield Heritage Village, and sing along with the Hamilton Children’s Choir. We’ll also play with slime, ward off evil geniuses, discover some strange Canadian inventions and learn about a true Canadian hero. You’ll have a chance to win a prize too!
Geared to students, aged 8-12, Shocking Science and Fab Facts will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 11:00 to 11:30 am.
