“Concussions: Ripping the Band-Aid Off” Community Discussion

Brain Smart Hamilton – Let’s Play Safely presents “Concussions: Ripping the Band-Aid Off,” a free 3-part discussion which aims to learn from injuries of sports past to improve safety in sports today.

Please join organizers on November 17, 2017 for Part I of the discussion highlighting the impact of concussions on our brains and on our lives. The event will take place at the McMaster David Braley Centre Auditorium, 100 Main St. W., Hamilton, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The keynote and panel/open discussion will be led by Dr. John Connolly and Dr. Mike Noseworthy.

With concussions among youth on the rise, it’s a discussion whose time has come. Brain Smart – Let’s Play Safely! Is a project that plans to implement and evaluate a concussion education strategy for coaches, parents and youth in Hamilton Minor Sports. This discussion series aims to create awareness about concussion diagnosis, management, safety in sports, treatment options and returning to life after concussion.
